Fleet Training

Health & Safety

Employers have a duty under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure that employees have a safe working environment that applies equally to driving. This extends to other road users, who must not be put at risk by your staff’s work related driving activities.Fleet training is being requested by companies who see it as part of their duty to their staff and requirement in Health & Safety which considers the car a place of work. If a company organises training for their staff they have shown a duty of care and lessened their liability in the case of a crash.

Presentations and practical training are requested by companies both small and large.

Developing Correct Attitudes

In any one year, excessive and inappropriate speed kills around 1,200 people and injures over 100,00 more. This is the largest contributor to casualties, most crashes are predictable and are caused by thoughtless behaviour. Fleet trainers are expected to identify the individual needs of those who drive for a living or have to drive as part of their daily routine in order to attend meetings and other appointments. In addition fleet managers have a duty of care towards their staff to see that they receive training in company vehicles. Companies of all sizes are constantly looking for ways to reduce their fleet fuel bills and general running costs therefore, increasingly become interested in Eco- Safe driving methods. Developing correct attitudes not only saves lives but can also reduce fuel usage by up to 8%, making training a cost effective option.

Company benefits:
